Please be our guests at our next Herd Health Day on Saturday morning June 12.  This event is designed for you to observe first hand what is involved in the routine health care and maintenance of alpacas. 
 
After spending a few hours with the alpacas, we'll end the morning's activities with a hot Heritage Farm lunch. See below for more details.  We hope you can join us!

Herd Health Day
 Depending on the need and the weather, here are some things you may be able to observe.  We will demonstrate the tasks as well as thoroughly explain the process.Banner

  • Weighing/Body Score
  • Halter Fit 
  • Basic Handling Techniques 
  • Examining Teeth
  • Microchip Insertion
  • Injections and oral medications
  • Worming Medications
  • Records Management
  • Pregnacy testing (behavioral)
  • What to do with alpaca poo

There will be plenty of time for questions after the work is done.   To complete the afternoon, lunch will be provided for a time of socializing and Q & A.
