Heritage Farm Hands-On Training Program

You are invited to spend a day or an entire weekend working along with us in the care of our alpacas. We have found that hands-on training is the best way to learn--and, it will boost your confidence in being able to care of your alpacas once they are at your farm. Activities vary but may include:

     • Pasture Rotation
     • Pasture Care
     • Worming/Vaccinations
     • Halter Training
     • Weighing
     • Toe Nail Trimming
     • Feeding
     • Fencing maintenance and repairs
     • General Farm Upkeep
     • Data Management
     • Cleaning up poop piles

Pricing and Terms
This service is offered free of charge or obligation to prospective buyers who want to see what alpaca care is all about before they consider investing. It is also included in our New Customer Care package. Just call ahead to make arrangements and idicate if you will be spending the night.

Additional Details  If you opt for a two day hands-on training session, you can spend the night at our 150 year-old, hand hewn guest cabin. You will have plenty of time to relax and enjoy Heritage Farm. Wake up to freshly brewed coffee and our famous Heritage Farm pecan/chocolate chip waffles!
